Q1. What is the age range of Sheldon Lions?
A1. At present our ages range from 30 to 60, however we are open to any like-minded adults of any age who share the same commitment and ethos as we do.
Q2. Do I have to live in the Sheldon area?
A2. No, some of our Lions live in areas many miles away from Sheldon.
Q3. When do Lions meet?
A3. We meet every second Wednesday of the month for the main business meeting.
At various times throughout the year we often have our own varied calendar of social events where friends and family are made very welcome.
Q4. How much time do I have to give as a Lion?
A4. We ask that you give as much time that you feel you can, but your health, family and business shall always take priority.
Q5. Is it expensive?
A5. Our subscriptions are £40 per year. We currently pay two instalments of £20 each half year in June and November.
Q6. Is Sheldon Lions a Registered Charity?
A6. Yes, we are a registered Charity with the Charities Commission (Please e-mail us for further information).
Q7. How do you guarantee every penny raised will go to charity?
A7. We have two bank accounts which are Fundraising/(Charity) and Administration. The
Fundraising/(Charity) account is used for the sole purpose of charitable funds raised for charitable purposes only. The Administration account is used for the funds raised by our membership subscriptions and some extra funds raised through our social activities etc to maintain our clubs administration costs.
By having this system it ensures that every penny raised for charity is donated to charitable good causes.
Q8. Do I have to be a professional person to join Lions?
A8. No, Lions welcome everyone whether you work, are between jobs or if you are retired. We all share the same principles and objectives to serve the local community.
